Incident during Cardi B’s performance in Las Vegas
An audience member attempted to drop a drink on Cardi B during her performance of her hit song “Bodak Yellow” in Las Vegas, reportedly to a video posted on social media. A enormous cup was brought up towards her on stage. The incident appears to be part of a recent trend where individuals are attempting to hurl objects at musicians at music events.
Cardi B was initially surprised but quickly responded by pointing her microphone at the person in question.
The video, containing offensive words, has received over 6 million views on TikTok.
The rapper’s representation did not immediately respond to requests for comments from NBC News. The Las Vegas nightclub where the incident occurred has also not replied to an email requesting further information.
Cardi B is a recent artist who has been under attack physically or with items thrown at her during performances. Last month, during a show in Manhattan’s Pier 17, she had a phone thrown at her after someone was upset with her actions during a music event. The incident resulted in her breaking her eye and sharing pictures of her injured eye on social media.
Nicholas Malva, the person accused of the incident, allegedly told a witness that he thought throwing something at Cardi B would be funny. His lawyer stated that he only hoped that Cardi B would take photos with the item and then return it to him.
Almost a week later, during a performance in Vienna on her “Love on Tour,” Styles was hit in the face with an object. It’s not clear what happened, but Styles was hit with something as he turned away from the stage.
This was Styles’ second incident with an object being hurled at him while on the “Love on Tour.” A Skittles candy was thrown at Styles last year, and in response, Skittles published an advertisement in the Los Angeles Times asking people not to hurl sweets.
